Local Area
We’d love to share with you some of our favourite things to do locally, in the village and beyond… Some things that you won’t find in any tourist brochures!!
Nestled along Cornwall’s rugged north coast, Port Isaac is one of the county’s most picturesque fishing villages, famous for its winding streets, whitewashed cottages, and breathtaking sea views. Best known as the filming location for the TV series *Doc Martin*, the village perfectly blends traditional Cornish charm with a relaxed coastal atmosphere.
Spend your days exploring the historic harbour, browsing independent galleries and boutiques, or enjoying freshly caught seafood in one of the village’s welcoming pubs and restaurants. The nearby South West Coast Path offers spectacular walks in both directions, with dramatic clifftop scenery, hidden coves, and endless opportunities to spot wildlife along the coastline.
Just a short drive away, you’ll find some of North Cornwall’s most popular destinations, including Polzeath for surfing and sandy beaches, Rock for watersports and ferry trips, and the charming market town of Wadebridge, home to the famous Camel Trail cycling route.
Whether you are looking for coastal adventure, relaxed beach days, exceptional food, or simply a peaceful Cornish escape, Port Isaac provides the perfect base for discovering the beauty of North Cornwall.
